The Investigation

21.00 During the tour we ventured down to where they do Archery. There were figures seen moving at the far end (you can only get access through the locked door we came through). Dave and Jake both reported seeing the figures. Half the group walked down but no one was there except bunnies (they were too small).

21.10 When on the parade ground, after coming up from the tunnel, a shadowy/moving figure was reportedly seen by a number of groups over by one of the huts that are behind the big hill. Someone investigated and no one was there. (All the party were together, but we cannot rule out the possibility of a member of the public although Dave was insistent everyone had left at 6pm).

21.15 Group D in the South West Tunnel could see lights beneath the torch.

21.20 Ben saw a man stood at the bottom of the South East Tunnel. As this happened Dave got pushed to the floor.

21.45 Group C Tried a door near the climbing room. The door opened slightly then slammed shut stopping them from entering. Gill returned to investigate (presumably after they all ran off screaming) and found just a small room with no air.

22.00 In the thunder Tunnel Gemma and Zoë’s torch went out, batteries were replaced but it still didn’t work. The walkie Talkie then made a funny noise when no one else’s did.

22.15 Group C heard a small grunt whilst in the Ghost Tunnel. At this time a group also report shuffling footsteps on the spiral staircase. This could be heard for about 10-15 mins.

22.30 Doors rattling near the climbing wall entrance (but it is very windy and the flag pole at the top of the spiral staircase is very loud and noisy.

22.45 Ben and Chris start a 2 person vigil in the South west Tunnel.

22.46 Loud deep moan can be heard

22.47 They report orb on camera

22.50 Emma joins them and they move to the lower chamber.

22.59 They all hear clear loud bangs from tunnel; they seem to react when they answer questions.

23.00 Group B kept getting a sweet smell almost like rum in the Thunder Tunnel. A séance was held with some other groups. Tarnia felt the presence of a big tall man possible Big Joe or Joseph. Also a lady in her 20’s was sensed grabbing at ankles.

Another group are sat in the bottom end of the South East Tunnel and can hear loud bangs coming from the top end of the tunnel. Male voices can also be heard. Everyone’s location is accounted for. Ben shouts up the tunnel and gets a loud bang in response. Footsteps can be heard walking down the tunnel and no one is there. Further questions are asked and more bangs heard in response.

Jenny can smell horses in the Thunder tunnel.

Upon leaving the Thunder Tunnel it feels like we are walking towards something dreadful.

Liz and Tarnia enter the Thunder Tunnel alone, Tarnia picks up on a man and he needs to say something but can’t.

23.15 Group A, Terry and the hobbits are sat round the spiral staircase. Very loud banging from above. The flag pole is being blown around by the wind and is very, very loud and noisy.

23.25 Group B experience a temp drop in South East Tunnel 12.1° down to 11.6° whilst they experienced very loud banging that sounded like cannon fire.

23.31 Lizzie calmly meditates for us to see if anything comes through and is prodded in the back of the head sharply and suddenly (the whole thing is caught on camera and we hope to load it onto the website on the download page) she screams very loudly. We wait 10 more mins but she is still shaking very badly and feels very sick.

23.45 Group D in the Thunder Tunnel saw a big built, tall man walk past them.

00.00 Dictaphone is left in the Vortex Room (down the ghost tunnel). Red lights can be seen round the dictaphone. Sharon feels very cold.

00.10 Helena reports clapping could be heard in the ladies toilets

01.00 Group B hear footsteps walking down the Thunder Tunnel but on investigation no one is there. Emma gets a bad headache.

Tarnia has her hair pulled several times whilst in the Ghost tunnel. Lizzie and someone saw someone poke their head round the corner unclear where or if anyone was present).

In the room where all the strings are, a man was seen walking straight across the room.

Tarnia can sense the entity of a 100 year old man who used to do sacrifices (need to clarify).

01.00 Screaming sounds can be heard in the Thunder tunnel, this was reported independently by several different groups.

01.15 Becky feels someone put their hand on her camera just before we enter the tunnel that is up on the parade ground.

02.00 Tarnia can hear someone singing an Australian song (like Oh my darling). She senses a man called Mike who worked at the fort whilst visiting from Queensland (he’s not nasty).

She can also see the image of a man with his ‘insides’ on the outside.

A gentleman of about 50 or 60 years old, who she thinks might be the caretaker; is saying we shouldn’t be here.

Becky reports seeing a red orb in the South East Tunnel.

02.40 Group B hear dripping noises very clearly in the old Bathroom. The room is completely empty. There is nothing present that could possibly drip and no windows to the outside. Sharon and Chris hear knocking noises in the old bathroom too at this time.

03.00 Accommodation Block. Room 1. Tarnia senses a lady who stands by the window, the room is very calming, she also senses a modern man called Bob in the room. Tarnia has seen scouts in this room before.

She is picking up on the name Lyn or Lynda with a surname, Cathgrove? Cathgrey? Cath? Caths? Coomb? From maybe the 1980’s? She had a bad marriage, came here with the scouts maybe for freedom to escape, no beatings maybe mental abuse? She likes it at the window.

Tarnia can also see someone sat in a low down chair in the corner.

No activity.

03.30 Swap rooms with the other group. Tarnia sees this as hospital room with lots of beds. Happy patients here, very few deaths but she also senses lung disease.

The door is heard slamming outside.

She senses a young man in the corridor but he didn’t slam the door.

No other activity.

Ouija Board

At various points in the evening Dave and Jenny performed Ouija board in the places where Dave thought they would get the best results.

Different groups joined Dave and Jenny during the evening.

The best results came from the Ouija Board attended by Helena. She had family and messages come through for her. No one else in the group had personal messages come through for them. Contact was also made with someone called Charlie.

Conclusion

Excellent nights investigating. Report forms filled in but some not specific enough about areas times etc. Good contact made during Ouija Board. Helena really pleased and looking forward to Fort Widley on Friday 12th January.

Hoping to return again maybe sometime in the summer.

Copies of the full Ouija Board are available.
