Who are the Southern Ghost
Watchers Alliance?
In September 2000, we decided to try something different and so, as we
all had experienced either ghosts or the paranormal in one way or another,
someone found a haunted house, Chingle Hall in Preston, Lancs, where you
could do an overnight stay and we decided this would be our first investigation.
We returned to Chingle Hall, which is now unfortunately a private residence,
a couple of times, aswell as other places including Tutbury Castle, Coalhouse
Fort, White Horse Public House, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Woodchester
Mansion, Netley Abbey, Portchester Castle, Jamaica Inn, Derby gaol, Bodmin
Gaol, Wymering Manor, Queen Victoria Country Park, Michelham Priory and
many, many more (see location history). The rest you might say is history!
The core members of our group are Sarah, Becky, Annie, Lizzie and Neil
with the recent additions of 2 dedicated members Chris and Emma during
2005. We also have the talents of our Medium, Tarnia.
During our investigations since September 2000 we have experienced visitations
and time slips, gathered photo evidence, cctv footage, experienced successful
séances, numerous evp's, sleep paralysis, physical contact with the unknown
and many documented, independent sightings.
Equipment used during investigations, that has been obtained over the
years, include EMF meters (electro-magnetic field meters), dictaphones,
negative Ion meters (shows the presence of orbs/ghost lights/spirit lights),
motion sensors, trigger objects, ranging from magnetic marbles and children’s
toys to a crucifix and other religious and antique objects, remote digital
laser thermometers, night vision video cameras, digital cameras and Canum
meters (these detect ultra sonic sounds. The human ear hears up to 18
Mhz, but dogs and other psychic animals hear on a range much higher, up
to 50Mhz which the Canum meter can pick up as does the dictaphone which
is why dictaphones are also good at picking up Evp’s).
We are now ever expanding with numerous members and always welcome people
on all our investigations. We are a fully insured, non-profit making organisation
dedicated to researching and investigating the paranormal.
