Dinner and photos, we also received the
news about Ben. We all send him love and hope he recovers well. We can’t wait to
see him at an invo soon.
Everyone has dinner. A little girl takes
a shine to Kyle and a man walks into the door about 3 times…..we laugh…..a lot!
We even wonder if he thinks he is a ghost and is trying to walk through
walls/doors etc….but I guess you had to be there….oh how we laughed!
Bodmin
Gaol
22.30 Await a member of staff for Health
and Safety Tour but staff not available. Take ourselves off for a tour after a
briefing and show everyone the necessary areas.
Whilst on tour as we enter the old Naval
Prison (outside) Trish is over come and is sick.
22.55 Matt is sure he heard footsteps in
one of the empty cells.
Emma also hears footsteps in one of the
cells and also a hissing sound.
11.00 Lizzie saw movement in the Gift
Shop.
11.20 As we walked down the stairs from
the Gift shop level, Tarnia hears footsteps coming
down the stairs behind her.
23.30 Whilst on very top floor, Tarnia is certain she saw the head of someone ahead of us
where no one has got to yet.
00.10 On the Ground Floor (laundry room)
it looks very misty so we take lots of photos. There is a definite mist to one
side of the cell. Becky jumps over the barrier and the mist is still present.
Whilst in the cell Becky swears she saw a white figure. We take more photos and
a few of us get an orb.
00.30
VIGILS
In the laundry room, Becky sets up
Motion sensors in the area where the mist was seen. The rest of the group down
there report some very drastic temperature changes. A fast drop from 19.2°c down to 16.7°c and then steadily rises again but then
drops down to 15.8°c. The thermometer also goes haywire for
a minute before finally dropping to 14.3°c. there are
also strange noises coming from the end where the motion sensors are.
00.32 Tarnia
and group on the top floor sense the presence of a man that roams freely
00.50 As Siobhan, Darren and Matt leave
the Naval cells, Siobhan feels like someone is following them.
01.00 Becky calls out, but no response
although she thinks she can see twinkling lights again up near the motion
sensors (laundry room)
Siobhan, Darren and matt are sat outside
the execution shed and hear a dog howling and a lot of yelling but it is
possible that it is local residents
01.05 Top Floor. Tarnia
can see a man with dark straggly hair and black teeth, he’s staring but isn’t
bothered by us being here. Angela, Liz and Tarnia all
hear a groan.
01.15 Angela feels dizzy and falls back,
Liz asks whoever is present to make them selves known and a noise is heard by
the group, but Lizzie thinks it may have been her writing on the clipboard.
01.30 Temperature is still a steady 17.0°c but the Canum meter moves right up to 3Dcb
from -20Dcb and makes the red light go on. Tests were carried out but these
readings could not be replicated. Begin recording with Dictaphone (but after
listening back nothing is recorded)
Also the entire group report the smell
of burning, went as quickly as it came.
01.45
VIGIL 2
01.52 On the floor of the condemned
cell, Becky sees a white light near Emma through the night vision camera
01.58 Movement is heard in the Condemned
Mans cell and the bat is no longer in there, twinkling lights can also be seen.
02.00 Tarnia
and group in Laundry Room (bottom floor) Tarnia can
see 3 children playing. Something fell down the stairs and so they set up
thermometer and camcorder and then sang to try and raise vibrations but
nothing.
02.20 Top Floor. Bev sees a figure walk
across from one side of the walkway to the other. She sees this happen twice,
its almost as if they were walking into the doorway of the Male Civil Prison.
03.00
VIGIL 3
03.00 Stocks Room Tarnia
felt as though hands were reaching out to her from the cells. Room opposite the
big TV - lots of orbs on various different cameras
03.05 A really strong smell of
Antiseptic is reported by groups independently from each other.
03.30 Tarnia
tries Psychommetry on the Gaol walls. She can sense a
feeling of desperation….Ian points out that it is a GAol!
04.00 Sat outside the execution shed Tarnia hears slow plodding footsteps, unsure where they are
coming from.
In the outside old Naval Prison Tarnia can sense a nasty evil man in one of the cells. He
has tried to push Tarnia out before so when we sent
in Becky. The cell definitely felt different. It’s a lot warmer in there than
in any of the others.
05.25 Things seem a little quiet so we
begin Psychic exercises with Tarnia.
The first session produces excellent
results with 3 out of 4 results being correct. This was followed with a psychic
art exercise, which also produced good results.
06.00 Much giggling ensues as tiredness
and lack of oxygen sets in!! I don’t think I have ever laughed so much…ever!
06.30 Pack up and load cars ready for
breakfast.
CONCLUSION
A very quiet night and the whole gaol has
changed so much since we were here last. The frightening, grim, miserable
atmosphere has gone. Don’t get a real feel for the Gaol anymore and what it
must have been like for the prisoners. Very commercial and more of a place of
entertainment.
The gaol always held a very special
place in our hearts as we have visited there frequently since we were kids but
we were all shocked by the changes.
But we have to say that it probably
won’t stop us from returning. There is an awful lot of history here, its just the
atmosphere that has gone.
I think we will be more likely to return
to somewhere like
The night in general was very quiet and
disappointing. The mediums in the group found it an interesting place and could
certainly pick up on things we couldn’t. They found it easier to tune into the
despair, misery and agony that prisoners went through, before the changes it
was much more apparent.
